Our PRIME TIMERS (a ministry for adults ages 60 years and older) LUNCHEON meets on the third Thursday of every month for lunch and a meaningful program to help the seniors of Mechanicsville live full and abundant lives. Each meeting includes lunch and a special educational or entertainment program that appeals to all interests. Some past programs have included speakers on health topics, ministry involvement, senior adult education, musical guests, and missions speakers. Senior Adult Retreat
This year a group of our Prime Timers joined together with other Senior Adults from churches around Virginia at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center outside Lynchburg, Virginia. We sang, worshiped our Lord and enjoyed God’s creation in the mountains of Western Virginia.
Meaningful Bible Study on Sunday Mornings
Broadus is blessed with a rich history of meaningful Bible study ministry on Sunday mornings. Our Prime Timer ministry is blessed with very good teachers and caring class leadership. Studies vary from class to class as our women’s classes, men’s class and co-ed classes teach God’s Word and work at applying His truths to their lives.
Senior Adult Day & Church Wide Picnic
This Year, Broadus set aside a Sunday to honor our Senior Adults. On this day we recognized and honored those couples who have been married 50 years or more and we recognize the oldest member and those who have been Broadus church members the longest as well as teaching in Sunday School the longest. With meaningful music and sermon, the worship emphasizes the fact that all adults age 60 years and older can continue to serve our Lord and minister in His name. Following the morning worship the entire church family joined together for a picnic at a nearby camp ground.

The Broadus HealthCare Ministry will be leading this month’s emphasis: “American Heart Association’s Heart Month”. A representative will share basic information on heart health and Blood Pressure 101-basic discussion of what is Blood Pressure, what the numbers mean, why it’s important, practical ways to manage your Blood Pressure, and more. Bring your brown bag lunch and keep your heart healthy.
