Sermon Notes

John 6

At the height of his popularity with the crowds, Jesus began to teaching things that were often hard for the people to understand and accept.  Many of the new disciples turned away and no longer followed him (v.66).

Jesus then turned to the twelve disciples and asked them, “You do not want to leave too, do you?” (v.67).

Every day we are faced with the decision of whether we will continue to follow Christ and honor him with our lives.  His call is to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow him (Luke 9:23).

Will we answer with the words of Peter?

“Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.  We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”  John 6:68-69
