What Do People Gain from All Their Labors?
Ecclesiastes 1:3  In the book of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon shared his struggles to find meaning in life.  He even asked, “What do people gain from all their labors under the sun?”  Both the Old and New Testaments help us to find the present and eternal value of good honest work.
  • You gain the ability to provide the necessities of life for yourself and your family, and to help others in need.  1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
  • You gain a commendation from God for a job well done.  Matthew 25:21
  • You gain a way to invest in eternity. Revelation 14:13

If Someone Dies, Will They Live Again?
Job 14:14 Though a righteous and prosperous man, Job faced some of the worst hardships ever known.  His plight was so severe, even his friends thought God was punishing him for some secret sin.  In the midst of his suffering, he doubted that he would live long enough to experience the blessings of the Lord again.  Wondering if he would be vindicated beyond the grave, he asked the question that people have pondered since the beginning of time:  Will there be life after death?
    • ¨ The teachings of Jesus tell us “yes.”
    • ¨ His resurrection from the grave confirms it to be true.
    • ¨ The invitation of Jesus Christ is for us accept his gift of eternal life through a relationship of faith.  Believers need never fear physical death nor the “second death” of God’s judgment.  Praise the Lord!
