“Why Building on the Wrong Foundation Is Useless”

Matthew 7:24-27

 Jesus wrapped up his Sermon on the Mount with a little illustration about The Wise and Foolish Builders.

The story is really not about architecture or house construction, but rather about the foundation of people’s lives.

• “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like the wise man who built his house on the rock.”
• But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like the foolish man who built his house on sand.”

You build your life on a firm foundation when you live in faithful obedience to all Jesus has taught you in every area of life.

You need the firm foundation of Christ because the storms of life are coming.

You need the firm foundation of Christ because eternity depends on Him.
