The Missed Opportunity to Be Fruitful
God allows you to choose if you are going to be a fruitful Christian. Lessons from The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30)
    • There are always variables in life you cannot control.
    • But you can choose where you invest your efforts.
    • And you can choose to make the most out of what you have been given.
    • You can also choose to gauge your fruitfulness by God’s standards, not the world’s.
Ultimately, we want to hear the voice of God saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

    The Missed Opportunity to Serve
One of the most frequently missed opportunities is service—acts of helpfulness and kindness — to others.  Therefore, Jesus constantly taught and exemplified what it means to live as a servant.
    • God takes our service to others seriously.
    • God takes our service to others personally.
    • God takes our service to others and uses it as an invitation into the Kingdom of God.
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

    Why We Miss Divine Opportunities
“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”   James 4:17  A prime example of a sin of omission—missing a divine opportunity — is when the Israelites reached the Promised Land.  (Num. 13-14)
    • Opportunities are frequently disguised as problems.
    • Opportunities often come with opposition.
    • Opportunities are often time sensitive.
    •  Opportunities are missed when we ignore God’s “markers.”
