The Lord’s Supper:  Sharing the Cup of Christ

We are called to share in the cup of his suffering and death.

  • Matthew 26:39   “…if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.”
  • Romans 8:17   “…if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

We are invited to share in the cup of his victory and glory.

  • Psalm 23:5  “My cup runneth over.”
  • Psalm 116:13  “I will lift up the cup of salvation”
  • Matthew 25:21  “Come and share your master’s happiness!”

We are privileged to share in the cup of his service to others.

  • Matthew 10:42   “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water…”
  • Romans 12:13   “Share with God’s people who are in need.”
